You might be an orchid enthusiast

If there is always a bucket of potting medium soaking in your laundry room, you might be an orchid enthusiast.....

your turn

WhiteRabbit 02-10-2009 05:43 PM

are excited about your purchase of new spray bottles ?

Royal 02-10-2009 05:46 PM

...you shout genus names at the TV when watching The Bachelor.

Royal 02-10-2009 05:48 PM

...you buy drinks based on what container would make the best flask.

Royal 02-10-2009 05:49 PM

...you have a nice big porch, but nowhere to sit.

quiltingwacko 02-10-2009 06:12 PM

If you cannot go into a home improvement store without bringing home a new NOID.........you might be an orchid nut.

Ethan 02-10-2009 06:16 PM

...if you have more orchids than you have friends...or remember your orchid's name's better than your friend's names.

BTW - What a brilliant idea for a thread!!!

quiltingwacko 02-10-2009 06:20 PM

 I need an orchid porch....so I can't sit on it!

cb977 02-10-2009 07:13 PM

If you've always grown plants but have started getting rid of the "regular" plants to make room for chids...you might be an orchid nut!

Royal, you just crack me up!!!

flhiker 02-10-2009 07:19 PM

If you spend most of your off time on the Orchid Board.

I have that porch Royal is talking about

If you plan your budget around getting new orchids...

CoolPhrog 02-10-2009 07:32 PM

If you open an ochid business to justify buying more orchids

CoolPhrog 02-10-2009 07:33 PM

If you push your children out of your house so you can use their bedrooms as grow rooms

CoolPhrog 02-10-2009 07:34 PM

If when you finally get a greenhouse, you stand in your backyard and figure out where the next one will be built.

Sandy4453 02-10-2009 08:13 PM

If you cancel lunch plans because you missed one watering day already!

Sandy4453 02-10-2009 08:15 PM

If $35 for one orchid plant seems reasonable now when there was once a time when $15 seemed extravagant!

I swear one day I'm going to do this... I keep telling the hubby.

If you begin planning on climate zones for different rooms in the house so you can grow a wider variety of 'chids...

Now I just need to get those renters out of the attatched apartment! :muahaha:
(they also happen to be my father-in-law and uncle-in-law)

Dorothy 02-10-2009 09:03 PM

... when you plan your vacations around Orchid Shows and Sales

SP2340 02-10-2009 09:19 PM

If you move to Miami for the ideal growing weather

quiltingwacko 02-10-2009 09:20 PM

If you page through greenhouse catalogs and drool on the pages........

cb977 02-10-2009 09:21 PM

...when you have to go out to the grow room anytime you need cinnamon, alcohol or Listerine?

Becca 02-10-2009 09:55 PM

How about this......when you walk into a salon or a business that has fake orchids on display and you feel the need to try and fix the leaves, flowers, and flower stalks into a more natural looking position

Marty 02-10-2009 10:01 PM

When you check OrchidBoard 30 times per day :cheer:

quiltingwacko 02-10-2009 10:07 PM

If you orchid list is having a mystery project and you check your wanted list for suggestion plants......you might be over the edge.

Only 30?
What? Are you slacking? :faint:

quiltergal 02-10-2009 11:50 PM

If you stop making plans of any kind on the weekends because it takes all damned weekend to water the chids!......you might be an orchid addict.

If you notice you're starting to get buff from hauling trays full of orchids from the bedroom to the kitchen sink to be watered.....you might be an orchid kook.

camille1585 02-11-2009 05:48 AM

... if all your books are in a pile on the floor because the orchids took over the bookcase. (perfect for hanging lights!)

billc 02-11-2009 07:02 AM

... if you can't bake cookies, cause all the cookie sheets are now humidity trays.

Bill

When FedEx or UPS trucks pass your house, you get all teary eyed.:bua:

Beverly 02-11-2009 07:24 AM

....if you turn one of your bathrooms into a growroom, and don't let anyone use it. Cymbidium is on the throne.

Or you can't help but to hug them when they ring your door bell

Becca 02-11-2009 08:40 AM

....when you are waiting by the mail box all excited because your expecting a package of orchids and the mail man pull up looking at you strangely...lol.

cb977 02-11-2009 08:50 AM

...when your mail person gets out of the car with a delivery and comes around back to check out the chids :)

Oldguypops 02-11-2009 10:42 AM

When you seriously consider getting rid of a cat that has been a member of your family for 14 years because he chewed the leaves on your paph that you had for 14 days:shock:... you just might be...

Chris, I am with you on this one! Except my cat's aren't chewing on the orchid leaves, they are spraying/marking on them!

Oldguypops 02-11-2009 10:49 AM

If you go to a store and see a shriveled and neglected noid, and you have the overwhelming urge to call the store staff together and give a lecture on proper watering techniques....you just migt be...
