Phals of any size do not adjust well to transplant from sphagnum moss to straight bark so a little sphag mixed in with bark should help for the first repotting. From bark to sphag is no problem.

Helen, I would say they are not getting enough water. Fresh bark does not retain water as well as aged bark and also being in a clay pot the pot is porous therefore the water evaporates more quickly...
