Dendrobium Cruetum leaves turning yellow with black spots
Help!!! I got this Dendrobium about 2 weeks ago and recently a few leaves have started to develop black spots and the leaves turn yellow then fall off. This happens very quickly, in 1-2 days.
Can anyone tell me what is going on? I am new to this and have no idea what I am doing wrong.
Pics would be helpful, there is a link in my signature section below for help with that.
I'm not good on diseases, but it could be some sort of fungus, although it could also be normal drop of leaves on a maturing cane. Several of my Dens drop all but the top leaves on each cane when the cane reaches full height.
RosieC, thank you for your help. I have followed the steps in the link a few times but it keeps telling me that I am missing a security key. Oh well, I broke down and opened a flicker account and have put the links below.
I would cut off the yellow leaf. Does it feel squishy? Dust with Cinnamon. Rest of plant looks OK. Looks amost like something was "dripped" onto the leaf. Have the other leaves that have fallen off showed the similar circula pattern?
With my Den Cruetum, the laves have just turned yellow & fallen off (aging) w/o the black spots. You may want to isolate the plant & see what happens.
The plant looks a bit distressed to me like there may be some root loss. Over fertilizing can cause similar problems. The plant look like it has been in that pot for some time, may be time to repot? As mentioned previously remove damaged leaf and treat with cinnamon.
