This is what the tag says but looks like its all a zygopetalum, looks like freestyle princess to me with a different shade of purple lip, a cross.

Cymbidiums can probably handle the most finer mix out of the orchids. I use a smaller bark with more fines in it for them rather than the chunky bark mix used for rot-pron phals.

Looks like a Callosum maybe, bright light, keep moist but not to wet in a shallow well drained pot or the roots will rot. Fertilize mild in the growing season and don't let water sit in the leavess...

Yeah! are you growing these orchids in spaghnum moss? try a bark perlite mix instead once the roots come back, less chane of rot. Just don't keep the moss to wet and new roots should grow quick.

this is weird because i have alot of paphs in too lower light and none have grown up like that. I'd increase the humidity maybe with a gravel tray under it(just make sure the pots not in the water).

haven't read the artile but do you mean ants on the flower spike? Alot of orchids subcrete a sticky substance to attract and feed the ants, then the ants stop any other pest going to eat the flowers....
