I can put the flasks in a window where they would be kept a bit warmer. They won't receive enough light in a window, so they will have to have a source of artificial light. If I put them on the patio...

Best way to convert an orchid to a mount?
I recently got a R. Digbyana that's been potted in a plastic slat basket and sphagnum moss. I'd like to convert it to growing on a piece of cedar or cork bark so I'm less in danger of over watering...

Well, for what it's worth, I did a little more poking around online and decided to use carpenter staples and pressed them in the mount by hand around the seedlings. So far it looks like things will...

I've got a set of Brassavola Nodosa seedlings that all fell out of their pots last night when I dropped their tray. Thankfully nothing is actually damaged. They've been growing in a seedling mix of...

I think it's Blc. Rustic Spots
My grandfather has had this orchid for well over a decade. Probably two. I've inherited one huge mother plant, and 5 or so smaller divisions from him. Sadly, I have no ID for many/all of his plants....

Thanks! I've sprayed it with insecticide since obtaining it, but it's due for a repot to a mount in a few days. I'll spray it again and check the whole underside of the plant for pests.

I thought it was sunburn or something having to do with how it was grown at it's old home, but the new growth has some of the same spots. I'm quite certain the growth is completely new and has...

Black blotches showing up on R. Digbyana
I got this orchid about 2 months ago at a show. It's been doing quite well, and has even started a small new psudobulb growth.
About 3-6 days ago a black blotch showed up on one of the leaves. I...

How do I care for a large, neglected plant?
