I've had these Zygo for 6 months. Originally, they were in lava rock, but I didn't care for that and they weren't doing amazingly, so I've moved them into a small bark seedling mix with charcoal and small stone.
They get the same light as my oncidium do, but none of them are showing browning on the leaves.
Don't worry about those brown spots. They're not going to kill the plant.
The dried bracts on the bottom of the pseudobulbs are typical of the plant once the pseudobulbs mature. The leaves that surround the pseudobulbs eventually die off and the only leaves that will persist a little while longer are the ones on top of the pseudobulbs.
And if possible use very pure water for these seedlings. Can you collect rain?
If not rain, then use reverse osmosis purified water. Zygos are sensitive to salt in the water. I think south Florida has a very large amount of dissolved minerals in the water.
