I thought it was sunburn or something having to do with how it was grown at it's old home, but the new growth has some of the same spots. I'm quite certain the growth is completely new and has nothing to do with sunburn. Since I received the orchid 3 weeks ago, it's been kept in bright light, but no direct sun.

Its caused by bugs sucking on the sap and the leaves have scarred developing into dark spots. Try looking for snails too.

Thanks! I've sprayed it with insecticide since obtaining it, but it's due for a repot to a mount in a few days. I'll spray it again and check the whole underside of the plant for pests.
