Humidifier is a good idea. I put the plant up on a glass shelf by a west facing window. I read that east window is ideal but unfortunately there isn't one in my apartment....

close-up look at the tips
Here are close up pictures showing the yellow/brown tips of the roots. I hope they don't end up like the dry roots at the bottom of the first picture.
