I know I said it was Freedom for the Roots and these two are certainly making their bid for freedom.

With the pole construction of these Pots, they are flexible enough to allow the roots push through regardless of their gauge and thickness. They open like a pair of curtains.

Didn't I say they were Magical?

Now I have my very first real live example of the run away Roots.

The orchid and the roots look very healthy. I think that new pot is working well. It will be interesting to see how the roots wind up growing. How often do you water that plant?

Hi Mister Tucker Sir,

I use about 225 mls of Distilled water (De-Ionised water) which fills the attached saucers with these pots.

In about 48 hours all that water is taken up into the clay/bark mix and I won't re-water for about 7 - 10 days normally, although we are having somewhat of a heatwave in the UK right now so I will keep my eye on them and feel the weight of the pot to determine if they need another drink.

Launa actually sells them in the UK (I've just bought a couple from her to give them a try) Orchid Pots.

But you can get them from repotme.com in the USA.

Yes you are dead right.

They originate from Germany. I was at the Malvern 3-Day Show last month and the owner of the company flew over with his daughter to meet and support us at the Show. They were Fabulous and I learned a lot from Ralf.

Those may end up looking very cool with roots hanging out all over. I have read on here some older post where people didn't like the aerial roots.....oh my.....how could they not. I love them, my paph mannii before I repotted it had them going every where.

Once the roots know there is moisture down there, they will always head south.

Once outside the pot, they can be trained to head for the saucer where they can coil to their hearts content around the saucer. I can't wait for these to grow. It's really exciting.
