LC Bonanza Vesuvius AM/AOS

This is one of my rescues. It took 2.5 years to get it to bloom...under lights no less. Summers in the greenhouse, then under 300 watt CFLs in the winter.

It was the vendor that discounted them, not Lowe's. I may stop by today to check and see if the other 5 Oncidiums were bought.

My 2 cents

My :twocents:

Remove the dry velum and dead roots. Soak in Physan 20 and Super Thrive, use a loose mix of sphagnum moss--keep moist and high light-well shaded until established. Good luck

Knubby

BirdSong:

That knubby was part of what I thought was a spike. Soon after new leaves came out of it, then the terminal spikes and blooms. :hmm

Try the inside-out perspective

Try the inside-out perspective. I use Bonide Systemic time release insecticide. I sprinkle the granules on all my plants. As I water the insecticide is absorbed by the plants and keeps all the bugs...

Phal ID?

Hey all,

I have a NOID Phal...probably a Brother cross of some sort. There was no spike, just two blooms from the base of the kiki. Take a look and tell me what you think.

Low Tech and cheap PCM material include the use of paraffins, fats, and oils.

Lard for example will melt at temperature, retain the heat and solidify when cooled.

Just a hypothetical example....

MAx. T.

Has it bloomed yet...within the past year. If not, let it go until fall. Max. T. like to be forced into bloom by crowding. Otherwise divide and repot it.

Nope. Mold spores

I'd stay clear of water from a dehumidifier. In theory, the condensed water is pure. In reality, it is loaded with mold spores and such from standing stagnet in your basement.

I have a 40 gal...
