It is natural for a Phal to grow toward the side. Mine all do it. It's how they grow in the wild. As long as the middle leaf is firm I'd say you don't have a problem. Brenda

I would think they would be fine for five days. I bring mine inside and put them in front of a window while I'm away and they're always fine. I wouldn't leave them any longer then a week.

I give the bulb a couple of twists and it comes away from the rest of the plant. You can dust the wound with a little cinnamon. Remove the papery stuff as it's a good place for insects to hide.
