If it's already in hydroton why not go the other direction and put it in semi-hydro when it starts growing new roots from a new shoot? Sharry Baby has done really well for me in SH.

It may be Angraecum distichum or a similar...
It may be Angraecum distichum or a similar species (there are some which are pretty similar looking and I wouldn't be able to tell them apart).

My guess is that the plant has been treated with something, some form of fungicide or fertilizer or some other...
