I am by no means an expert, but is her pot too big. Sometimes if too large, the media stays wet too long. Just a guess as I am a total newb when it comes to orchids.

I appreciate everyones insight. I really do. While I do suspect they were dyed, I also had not really thought about it being algae and since the repot is over I have to be open to that possibility....
