Baldan's Kaleidoscope fades as the flowers get older. I'm sure that's why you are getting "different" pictures of it. Fresh and faded flowers look markedly different.

Stress *can be* a cause of keiki production, but is not the only cause by any means. I would bet heredity produces...

I've had phals' top leaves break off a few times just from handling. It happens when the growth is soft because of too much shade, so you might consider increasing the light and air a bit to toughen...
