I think it is a seedling, I went back to an email I saved from the seller and he said that it should double it's size each year and reach blooming size in 2 t o3 years. This is the worse it has looked, like I said no more new growths and the p-bulbs are shriveling. I'll let you know if I ever get it to bloom someday...lol.

Bec, I'm not sure how often you are watering that poor thing, but in bark in summer I'm watering my atroviolaceum 2-3 times a week, and it's still drying out too fast. I have found that some of my plants that really suck up the water in summer really appreciate a 30 minute soak in a bowl of water.

Hi Becca,first of all how big is this pot?On the pics it looks like is a very big pot compare to the plant?

Hi! Well I hate to say this, but this this thread is about a year and a half old...I couldn't tell you what size that pot was....I lost that poor little 'chid! It didn't stand a chance with me...lol. So for now I just continue to keep my eye out for another one. I would love to get my hands on another seedling like it. But now that you mention the pot size....it does look a little big for the size of the seedling....if only I new then what I knew now! Guess that is part of the learning process! Thank you for the inquiry!

 I just wanted to share with you my dendrobium 'Wonder Nishii' (dendrobium Atroviolaceum X Den Alexandrae).This year is has 32 spikes with many flowers.It is a wonderflul dendrobium and it is blooming for me half a year and then it is resting for 4 months and then it starts to send spikes again.I am going to take it to Santa Barbara Orchid Show next month.In 2005 I got the first Award of Best Dendrobium of Show.
