What is your favorite orchid for fragrance

I have a number of orchids that are fragrant and my favorite might be the miltonia. They are wonderful! I only recently got my first zygopetalum. I have yet to bloom a vanda. Do you have something in your collection that is a just 'must' have in the way of fragrance. Oh, I also do have the oncid Sugar Baby - hasn't flowered yet this year.Thanks. phragman:waving

My current new favorite is Holcoglossum amesianum - the fragrance beckoned to me at a nursery - I was trying to figure out which plant smelled so wonderful. The fragrance must have intoxicated me, because I bought it despite it costing more than I generally spend for plants (I'm pretty cheap), and having no clue if I could grow it! The fragrance is like Gardenia , not over-powering, but gently wafts across the room.

My favorite fragrances usually come from cattleyas. I like the ones with a sweet perfume type fragrance, not the spicy fragrance. I could name many that I really like but my all time favorite is Lc. Angel Love 'Pinky'. The fragrance is beautiful, strong enough to detect from a distance, and lasts for most of the day.

its a tie for phal violacea and for any zygopetalum.....

I would vote for Epi. radiatum, Brassavola nodosa, and Paph. delenatii.

I only have a couple noticeably scented plants in bloom at the moment, but the one I picked up from Waldor's at the SEPOS show yesterday is my fave of the moment: Neostylis Lou Sneary 'Blue Bird' (Neo. falcata x Rhy coelestis). I'm no good at describing scents, but this one is simply divine.

wooo, that must be really nice then, I love Gardenia fragrance!!!! :)
I seem to have hard time keeping that plant from getting yellow leaves/ then drop or turning into a heaven for red spider mites.
so I no longer buy them, but the scent is just to die for!

My zygo "Master Ian" was so strong as soon as you opened the door to come in from outside you could smell it. I was disappointed in oncid "Sharry Baby", as it didn't smell as potent of chocolate as I had expected.

I'm a sucker for sweet scent as well and I have a few fragrant orchids. I like them all.

My favorite would be certain kinds of Miltoniopsis. Some have no scent, or it is very faint, but some have fragrance that is REALLY nice and strong enough without giving me headache like Sharry Baby does (at least to me).

Oncidium Sunlight "NN". A small plant but it is a powerhouse as far as fragrance is concerned. sweet, citrusy, a little spicy...really difficult to descibe but I like it a lot. been in bloom for two months now and still emitting scent every morning.

Then a NOID Brassavola hybrid I have.

The fourth one is dendrobium nobile hybrid Love Memory Fizz. I also like the scent of Red Prince, Yellow Song and Oriental Smile Fantasy (all nobile hybrids).

Certain Cattleyas are also amazingly nice!

I don't know who started calling it chocolate orchid. It is more like vanilla smell I think. As far as potency, I think it is very strong. at least I get a headache and have to open windows. lol
I replaced it with a smaller version, sort of, which is Oncidium Heaven Scent Redolence. It basically smells the same but not as strong.

Neofinetia falcata or Lou Sneary. Always a favorite of mine.
