I got an Epidendrum fragrans last night and it has a lovely strong vanilla type smell, fills the whole room.
Neofinetia, Clowesia, Cymbidium goeringii for me!
I guess whatever is blooming and fragrant at the time :coverlaugh:
I have a NoID Cymbidium which is filling the greenhouse with fragrance just now, really love it. I thought at first it was a Den kingianum that was fragrant in there as they can fill the greenhouse with scent even when just a couple of flowers are open, but that dropped it's flowers and the scent remains and I've realized it's the Cym this time. Onc Sharry Baby "Sweet Fragrance" is probably my favorite though. |
I can't do Sharry Baby, I find it almost sickly sweet, borders on giving me a headache!
I have some like that. Those large lily flowers you get in bunches of flowers give me headaches. I've not found Sharry Baby to have that problem for me luckily.
Oh yep, the asiatic lilies make me ill. The last bunch someone gave me sat out on the barbecue because I couldn't have it in the house :)
I had a pescatoria dayana that was wonderful.

To me, Onc. Sharry Baby smells like chocolate mousse. Delicious! I have 2 fragrant orchids and 1 smelly orchid. I love the scent of my Paph. delenatii. It smells like a bouquet of flowers and sugar. Not a super strong smell and not overpowering.
