This has been a very low-maintenance terrarium so far. There is no fan, just the passive ventilation that the ExoTerra has. And actually, I covered half of the screen on the top...

By "treated pine", do you mean pressure treated? I wouldn't use that anywhere near an aquarium or a terrarium (or even near people, come to think of it...). Those chemicals are nasty.
