Talking Orchids in NYC Apt. Thriving

My plants seem happy enough, finally.

Chiloschista usneoides, Platystele umbellata, and Dendrobium unicum are in bloom. I think Dendrobium rigidum and Cirr. Makoyanum will do the same in a bit.

The wood that this Pleuro is mounted on is growing mushrooms! They last a day and then die off but several have popped up from the moss. Too cool.

You might want to check the Botanical Gardens (either Brooklyn or Bronx). I usually order mix when purchasing plants online because I haven't found a good supplier close to home.

i am taking it out of direct sunlight and will see how it does. the roots that look bad are not soft and mushy, they are hard, dry and wrinkly. so i guess it's not...
