Bilambil = (Paphiopedilum Ayjay x Paphiopedilum Paeony), 1983, no awards yet. Your clonal name is probably just an indication of its origin.

I was there, judging. Thanks for the pics, they bring back happy memories of giving all those ribbons. There were 17 exhibits, mostly table-top, and many, many spring bloomers. There were two or...

Since it came from a long time ago, it is probably Honey, which I have as well. It can be darker or even more yellow, depending on the parents and the ambient light. It should bloom for a long time,...

Hi Rhonda, Ted here. I agree with you about not being able to award a flower from a picture (digital or otherwise), but Des, we also have to judge texture and substance, as well as arrangement and...

Very simple. It is a readily available molecule in the wild, and orchids seem to like it. I read somewhere (and then heard from certain growers) that epiphytes seem to dote on it in very dilute...

This coming Saturday some of the members of the Houston Orchid Society are going out to the Piney Woods of East Texas to search for some native orchids. It will be my third time. Last year we started...

I like the fact that Camille mentioned latitude. Sheer hight would not limit many adapted plants, but water and day length (light) will limit any photosynthesis and produce stunted growth or none at...

Hey guys, I must be doing something right. Not only is this plant reblooming on old growth, but there is a new bud and many new growing leaves. I could have as many as three or four (or more) flowers...

Kiki,
I have quite a few of these, and I've been growing them (mostly leaves: you are right about not blooming, they are rather shy) for nearly ten years.
Here's what I see. The pitting can have...

Interested and how

Yes, Helen. I hate to see collections broken up, but more than that, I really dislike seeing good clones go by the wayside. Does the owner have any favorite rebloomers? The dogs that refuse to bloom...

is my suggestion. I'm in Houston and not only does this one rebloom freely, it extends its blooming over three to four months on the same inflorescence. That is, nine months of two to three flowers...
