Mine is growing roots and leaves. The spike is getting longer but I don't see any buds/flowers yet. I'm not changing anything at this point--just gotta be patient.:)

Thanks, Ross. I changed the bark today just in case so that would lower the larvae too. Here is a pic as you can see the undeveloped buds are dark shadows and you can see the chomp mark on the spike...

I would hold off on anymore cutting--some root is better than none. Just be patient because it will take a while for your Phal to get better, it won't happen right away.
