Also, try to avoid Sanderiana hybrids if you can because they are difficult to bloom. The little intergenerics do well though, Neostylis, etc. Try vase culture, there is a thread about it on here...

Yes. Living in Britain, the chemicals that get mentioned on here are double dutch to me. I use orchid focus for mine. The molasses idea is fascinating though, might try that.

No idea what the humidity is. Low. Hence the vases, they hold on to the moisture.....remember the leaves don't need the humidity, only the roots do. temps i guess it goes down to 12 or 13 in winter....
