Hi Rita,
Sometimes, you might not be able to find the cross but you might should look up the parents. This should give you a look on the growth habits and what the plant needs. http://www.orchidspecies.com/barkwhartonianum.htm http://www.orchidspecies.com/barkmelanocaulonn.htm Hopefully this will help :) |
I don't have that cross but I can tell you how to not kill it .. like I did one of mine . they like to dry fast , if to wet for long rot :( my surviror is the shoemakeri it is with my mounted Tol. Oncids. very bright some direct in a slat basket with some coco husk fiber no regular mix , they do well mounted . Hope this helps a little I am not an expert with them .. Gin

I agree with Gin. My barkerias grow mounted high in the greenhouse with daily watering during the summer. They grow like weeds and are starting to spike out right now....

Thanks everyone, for all your help. I have one more question , do you think it would grow better mounted?
|
I think mounted or in a wood slat basket no mix in it , I killed the one by leaving it in the pot it came in, stayed to wet . Good luck with yours :) Gin
