Hi there, Does anyone know anything about this orchid eg availability in the UK/ ease of growing etc. ? I am fairly new to orchids, but have seen this one in a catalogue. The supplier Easyorchid.co.uk is currently out of stock. The thing is, it has the same names as my daugter,:cheer: so I'd love to own one. Thanks in advance for any help. I am a windowsill grower in an east west house, with minimums on the coldest night of 6 deg C/52 deg F if that's any help (usually 16/61)

Nordotto e Capello in Italy has it really cheap. They have very good quality plants and every one I know who has ordered there has always been more than happy. They ship to the UK. Shipping on the website is listed for 5kg of plants, but if you order only one I believe that you don't pay the full amount.

Gosh aren't they cheap? How much did you have to pay for postage? Beautiful bloom isn't it?

Yes, the base prices at the italian site are good, but they charged me another 26 euros for postage, packaging and taxes(possibly credit card handling), I paid 34 euros in all, about 22 pounds I think. A bit pricey, compared to supermarkets, but they are good enough not to charge until they have your authorisation and the goods are in stock, and then they send you an e-mail confirming delivery which they ask you to acknowledge, so it sounds like they are careful.

I await with bated breath! As I said, I just wanted one because its my daughter's names. And it's pretty!:D

Me too, I can't wait to see it! :) I heard so many nice things about this place (I will try it out soon, they have stuff I want :drool:) so I hope your plant is up to their usual standards. I was a bit shocked by how much you paid shipping, because it is only 12€ to ship to France. Then I found out that because they are so close to France, they pop over the border to ship plants to french customers.

Unfortunately we never see them at french orchid shows. They are never invited since their prices are so much cheaper than the French growers! (who don't want foreign competition) Talk about unfair.:angry:

Hi there, the orchid arrived very well packed on Thursday lunchtime. To my amazement it has not one but two flower spikes :cheer: - my understanding of Italian being limited to grazie and not much more, I thought the one euro cheaper option was for a plant ready to flower but not in bud as this one is.

So far I have watered it and put it in semishade while I try and work out its perfect spot. The humidity it requires I need help on please. I have an old book that say Odont.s need high humidity at night as well as cool because they come from high altitudes and must therefore get dew like some cacti survive on. I have central heating but could keep an area cooler at night behind insulating curtains on a west facing window which would give me time to move it each day before sun comes round. So do I spray it at bedtime each day?:)

I'll post a pic when my home pc is fixed. I'm currently at the local art centre cos the motherboard or chip blew thursday so no scanner and no upload.

As to the price for delivery worth every penny.
