I've got it bad... (newbie; pics)

(Please forgive the cell phone pics.)

I had bought my first Neo, a Kinkousei, somewhat over a year ago. The seller only had one that he wasn't willing to part with, but he divided a fan off for me. Over the last year, it pushed out a few roots and, near the end of summer, just barely started a new growth. Its moss was looking extremely gnarly and I didn't like how it was seated on the mound, so I've just re-mossed it -- my first attempt. I think it came out okay?

Also picked up at the local greenhouse, which I think just got a shipment of Neos, a Keshoumaru. I haven't seen much mention of these; does anyone have any info on the form?

And also received these from OL -- Byakko, Oonami Seikai, Hisui, Suikaden:

And here is the whole lot, sharing the window with a few small Catts.

(There's also a Shutennou, an Isechabo, a Tamakongou, and a Soubiryuu in there. I had found a good price on the Soubiryuu, so I snagged it.)

And, of course, I have a massive (and expensive) wish list... :( R.I.P. spring paychecks. Though I'd like to make sure my culture is at least okay before getting too much crazier.

So, um, help me, y'all. This is dangerous. I haven't even looked into pots...

Kristen from NWO is coming to our April meeting and I plan to do a pre-order...and will probably take a good look at what she brings with her. :)
I just have a couple and grow them in LECA so I cannot really advise you on how your potting job is but they all look very healthy and beautiful!

The view out your windows is also spectacular!

Very professional looking! Only have 3 here and can't wait to see your blooms so post when they're ready for their close-up!

:welcomeflowers:

They look great!

Looks good to me but then I only have 2 that are a mix. Orchids in general are just addicting.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! :)

That sounds dangerous. ;) I've looked into going to the SEPOS show this year (the vendor list looks great!), but not sure it's going to happen. I wouldn't really have much spending money saved by that time anyway...

Thank you! We were fortunate in our house search last year. :) Plenty of outdoor space in the summer, too, variously shaded by trees.

Ha, for sure! If they bloom, I'll be so darn happy that I haven't killed them yet... there will be pictures. :)

Lovely, neos. They are my favorite genera.

Thanks

Sweet little plants! Love the elaborate 'bedding'. Reminds me of "Princess and the Pea".

I haven't seen those pots for sale before. Anyone know where you can get them in BC?

If you do eBay, search for Neofinetia falcata. There is a vendor in Japan that sell these footed, black, plastic pots especially designed to grow Neofinetia in sphagnum moss--known as the kokedama or Japanese style. The pots are sized 2 3/4, 3, 3 1/2, and 4".
