LC Candy Girl 'Emi' ?

Hi Guys :waving :hello

Hope everyone's doing fine as well as our beautiful and beloved orchids!

I bought this Catt almost two years ago without flower. The roots were embedded in a hunk of coconut husk and after a while it didn't seem to be going anywhere so I decided to soak and carefully remove the roots from the rotting material.

Anyway To make a long story short, I've been nursing it back to health and finally it grew a bud which I've been anxiously awaiting with baited breath (whatever that means :D and started opening today.

So here's my question:
The tag labeled it as an LC Candy Girl 'Emi" but I've looked all over and all of the Candy Girls seem to be a light lilac rosy color.

This is a red, red, red, color (the picture doesn't do it justice) I absolutely LOVE it (/udb) and hope it stays that way, but Is this a Candy Girl 'Emi" or not?

It's always been a small, compact plant and it's leaves are smallish.

Can anybody tell what it is Thank y'all so much!:bowing

Lilac
Unfortunately, the color is wrong, as well as the size of the plant.

As the blossom continues to unfold, try comparing to BLC Chia Lin. Probably no cigar, but you will be closer.

Do you have the company's name on the tag, also? That might help in getting to the goal.

Take care
Rex

According to Orchid Wiz Lc. Candy Girl was only registered in 2014 by J. Newman at Newman's Nursery in Hawaii. There are no photos or awards listed but the parentage seems to be mostly medium to pale pink. I wonder if there was another hybrid named this but never registered. Hard to say. I guess you could contact Newman's Nursery and ask if they have any seedlings that came out dark like yours.

Hi Polka ! Hi Silken! Thanks a lot! It has opened fully noe I think and here is the latest pic.

Someone on Facebook said that it might be LC Elizabeth Off 'Sparkling Burgundy'

I Googled the name in images and it does seem to fit. So I'm thinking that's it. It was obviously erroneously tagged. But I love it! And it has a subtle, wonderful fragrance also!

That's one of the things I like about buying from the discount rack, you get pleasant surprises

It's lovely. Tthere are so many hybrids that can look similar. I don't think you can officially call it Elizabeth Off for showing purposes or giving divisions away. Unfortunately it would be a NOID but a lovely one.

Thank you Silken! I agree too many. But noo I don't plan on showing or anything like that i just buy them for personal enjoyment. It will be my beautiful NOID! :)
