Acanthephippium striatum in bloom
This is the first flower of my A. Striatum. It can be found in the subtropical foothills from Himalaya to Taiwan, along watercourses. It is a terrestrial orchid with giant leaves and little striped flowers. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15...d83aec1ffa.jpg http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15...4597436079.jpg http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15...2436816f3d.jpg

In my wishlist, as I already told you. Forgot: does it smell?
|
yes. but you have to be very close to the flower. It doesn't smell like something in particular, it's like spring, flowers, a delicate scent.
BTW, in this period this orchid is available at Orchids & More at a very resonable price. Think about it ;) |
Very unusual never seen this one before. Can you show us the entire plant please.
|
Yessa I know, but just bought other 12 orchids. Forse a few months gotta calm down :)

That is a very interesting orchid you have there ... I never seen or heard of this genus before. With finding our more, do you give it a winter rest?
Thank you for sharing. |

No winter rest. Plus, it is very easy to grow: moderate light (phal conditions), very damp soil, intermediate to warm temperature (10° min). |
