Miniature orchids that thrive in high humidity terrarium

I need a few suggestions for miniature orchids that can tolerate high humidity environments with frequent mistings. I will be building a couple of new vivariums and want to splurge a little. These will grow on eipiweb.

If you can point me where to get them, that would be great too...unless somone here has some for sale, which would be even better !!!

Most of the Pleurothallids will not only tolerate that type of environment but will thrive there.Make sure the drainage is good though.A couple of other suggestions :Mediocalcar decoratum (mat forming w/goldfish red flowers.),most of the smaller bulbophyllums etc, etc.

Haraella odorata would just love that. maybe also Schoenorchis pachyacris and fragrans?

Haraella odorata seems to be the top favourite on OB ... any ideas where I can get it at decent price??? would be nice to get it in Canada

Almost any of the Angraecoids will take to this if mounted. If embedded in the background you may have some rot problems. All of mine thrive under high humidity (90-99%) with 5 second misting every 4-5 hours along with daily dunking to fertilize. They do take a while of moping to get adjusted to new home though (even Haraella). You can check my plant list for recommendations. Don't know about shipping to Canada, tho. Ship them to me and I'll take care of them for you

I agree, Haraella and small Bulbophyllums.

Paramount is out of stock on the haraella :( - Species
but maybe you can call to see if there is one hanging around ;)
J&L Orchids has them for $18 .. :) J&L Orchids ~ Our Fragrant Orchid Selections
but they are in Connecticut in the USA :(

Come on now! Can't we all get more creative? I know Haraella is a must-have amongst OB members, but there's got to be some other choices besides this or Bulbos! This is "our leader" we're trying to help out. I was hoping all the tank gurus would "pull out the stops" for Marty. If he's willing to sink a few bucks into new tanks, then we should live vicariously thru him and suggest all the new 'chids we lust for that would do well in wet environments. Aren't there some others? :scratchhead:
