Miltoniopsis question

Hi!
I just bought my first milt about 3 months ago at an orchid show. It had 2 lovely spikes which have long faded. I put the plant outside-- and now i see a curious new growth, what is this? Spike? Weird root?

The location of it suggests to me that it's new growth.

THANKS! Im happy to see anything emerge from it! :)

It doesn't look like any of the new growths I get on any of my Miltoniopsis. It doesn't look like a spike either. Keep us updated on what it is in the end.

I can't tell which it is either at this point.

Its been a while-- but i was thumbing through my phone and found an updated picture of it and thought maybe it could benefit someone else.

It was a new growth. It grew in like an ingrown hair under a mass of thin roots! Unfortunately, i dont have photos of the leaf being larger bc it eventually turned yellow :( Other than one or two leaves that turned yellow the plant seems fine... https://plus.google.com/photos/10664...CMzsxsLwo7mqeg
