Habenaria lindleyana
this is now dormant - I thought I would post a picture of the dormant tuber/bulb/whatever. Looks like a big toe !
Actually - having taken another look - I don't know what it looks like ! bit creepy... http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/02/28/du6yje2a.jpg |
Cool, interesting to see.

Ha!
|
I see a big finger. How do you break the dormancy?
|
all I do is to water roughly every 2 weeks. I think the plant naturally breaks dormancy as temps/light levels change with the seasons. I am watching for new growth too as that would be an indication to increase watering and start fertilising.
|
just noticed new growth. I am going to repot into a fresh moss/seedling bark mix. I wish I had a deeper and smaller pot as the tuber had curved from the existing pot.
Nothing on my Medusa yet, but the exposed end seems to be swelling. :D |
appears to be doing well. This is one I repotted into a Wisconsin Sphagnum mix - a much cheaper mix than the premium mix from New Zealand. So far, so good. Its in a cymbidium pot - I am hoping that I get extra long, fat and numerous tubers at the end of the season.
