Rlc. Memoria Anna Balmores 'Convex'

Rlc. Memoria Anna Balmores ‘Convex’. I’ve had the orchid for many years and it has lots of desirable traits. It’s a compact grower (about 12” tall). It has a nice fragrance. The pseudo-bulbs grow close together so it doesn’t ramble. It usually has two new growths on each lead and blooms on every new pseudo-bulb. The spikes are self supporting so they don’t need to be staked. The flower spacing and orientation is very good.

Pure joy for the eyes. Love how healthy the plant looks too. And I'm impressed: that's quite a list of desirable characteristics.

Tommy, I grow it in a basket because it's outdoors in South Florida where it rains almost every day during the summer. I use large chunks of cork that I cut off a cork slab with a hacksaw. Tree fern fiber chunks that I buy from an orchid supply store and large lava rock from the landscape section of Home Depot. The cork and tree fern seem to work much better than the lava rock.
