Some of my vandas in my trees
1 Attachment(s)
I'm really excited because my husband created a pully system for me so that I can get some if my vandas in and out of my trees!!! I need all the help I can get because I'm only 5 foot!!! Lol!!
It is hard to get a great picture of the system because if I take one from the ground my vandas blend in, with the exception of my pots/basket and the yellow leaf on my vandopsis that was damaged when it was shipped. All of my windows have screens so it makes pictures from my windows a little blurry. Thanks for looking!! And a big hooray for tall husbands who aren't afraid to get up on ladders!!! |
I like the way you hung them, how much sun do they get each day ?
|
Thanks so much for the compliment Fern's Daddy!! I will pass it on to my husband, as the pulley system and hard work are all him!
They get full morning sun from sunrise until around 11:15, they are protected by the trees from the mid-day sun, but it still comes through the trees. They work as my free shade clothes! Then they get full evening sun from about 6:00 until sunset. I'm watching them carefully in regards to the lighting. So far, so good! |
That looks like a good idea.

The Vandas are happy in that environment.
Lots of bright shaded light and air circulation....the humidity this time of year in your atmosphere can be a great help for those kind of plants. |
Bud, they definitely thrive in our summer weather. I'm just so excited my husband was able to create a system that allows me to lower them and adjust their height as I see fit!
