Is my vanda far off from flowering?
 

I'm new into vandas and recently got 6 new ones, 5 are seedlings and one is slightly bigger.

If my conditions are right , would you guys say that this is nearly ready to flower? Or perhaps how many seasons away?

It all depends. Most vandas will not bloom at that size. But there are a few hybrids that can bloom on very small plants. My guess would be that it will be a year or two before it blooms.

id say 2-3 years maybe... idk ive seen some of those commercial orchids grow incredibly fast. i wish i knew how to do that

commercial orchids grow incredibly fast bec they live in perfect conditions with constant assistance and dont spend time struggling through crappy culture techniques. they dont play games in the greenhouse. everything is perfectly timed watered and fertilized on a computer driven schedule with optimum light intended for the sole purpose of growing. when its time they drop the temps with careful watering and then you have a warehouse full of blooms going to walmarts everywhere before you know it. and the same reason why you get them and they crap out so fast. you can push them so far and eventually they dont push back. same ideas with the lush garden plants you buy and they turn to black mush the minute you put them in the yard. they dont intend for the hard push to grow plants to have much of a life and its all extended into growing fast and dying faster.

we need to know your grow zone ...temperature, humidity and airflow to your Vandas....
Im with Tucker on this...your plant is 2 years old and a couple of years more it might bloom....
RJ is right on the money....Vandas grown in GH or from outdoors Florida will thrive in that kind of environment pretty well....but since I am a windowsill grower in an apartment in Manhattan: I go back to the basic Vanda culture in its habitat and try my best to give it the tropical culture it is used to(with the help of humidifiers, heaters and electric fans) and it will thrive and get used to its new environment.

*Vandas do not like the cold....do not let it feel the frost

I'm in aus grow zone 6 which would be 12 in the US grow zone chart (that's if there was a 12 in the US. It only goes to 11 Max)
I have a constant 70% humidity and hang it in a breezy spot with nearly full sun.

zone 12 must be in the equator belt that has only two seasons; the wet rainy season and the dry hot season....and youre way south of the equator so youre equal to zone 10 or 11 in the USA....do you have snow or frost? do you have 4 seasons? if yes then you need to bring your Vandas indoors two weeks before the frost....
constant 70% humidity and breezy is good for your Vandas....but you have seedlings; a shady bright light will be best instead of direct sun(unless you have slowly weaned it to direct sunlight already; my Mokaras are in direct sun )
11am to 3pm direct sun will burn leaves on seedlings.

Oh I read the colour wrong on the chart, I'm a zone 4. I've never experienced frost here in 10 years or so but I'll keep it in mind to bring indoors if we have a cold snap
