I have one right now that is on its second spike. the first aborted. So you may get lucky and have it spike without aborting or spike and abort the first and then give you something the second time around.

What usually makes them abort a spike?

Well usually when you give it the ideal conditions and food and maintain that the orchid is happiest. As a result it will bloom, and sometimes it will do so young, and sometime it tries but doesn't yet have all the necessary energy to fully develop a spike. So think of a baby beginning to walk, he doesn't always get it on the first try, yet another might.
It is also at a stage where its growing new leaves and developing a new root system that allows it to get optimal absorption of the necessary nutrients it needs to grow.

Lots of good advice already, especially from Bud. Those latest leaves look big enough to spike from, but I would wait to see 3-5 new leaves ahead of those biggest ones, and then start expecting a spike. So maybe a year or two from now, unless you can really get it to grow quick. Good luck, and great job so far!

After struggling for 7 years , I managed my vanda bloom .. this one was bought earlier this year and it was struggling until i had a green tunnel up / outside with lots of light (indirect) temperatures around 30 C and setup my centrifuge humidifier with humidity set at 70+ .. and i got the biggest purple vandas i have ever seen on this size plant :) its all about light , temp and humidity .. and dont forget the fresh air flow .. very imp too

Yay... so I finally go my hands on a nice lil coerulea, now I'm just hoping that it will flower soon. The spot that I hang my vandas gets good morning light all the way to mid day, so providing the plant isn't too stressed from going from a nice greenhouse to my patio, I'm expecting blooms just after summer.

That coerulea with bloom as soon as it gets accostumed to its new environment. Looks very healthy.

It seems as well that coeruleas have slightly softer leaves than most of my other vandas , almost more like a soft dendro or Catt, I guess this too means that coeruleas need a bit softer light than some other vandas. (A few of my older ones get around 5 - 6 hours full morning sunlight )
