Hello Everyone!!!!
 

Hello! This is the first time I've actually got involved with a group/ forum of fellow orchid addicts and I wanted to introduce myself and just say hey to anyone else who loves orchids like I do. Anyways the name is Jon, I'm 23, and I live in Atlanta, Ga. I got into orchids last year and have steadily been increasing the number and variety of orchids in my collection. So far I have around 50-55 orchids which are mainly phalenopsis but I have started to move outward and now have oncidiums, dendrobiums, cattleyas, and cymbidiums. Watering them can take quite a while but it's definitely worth it. Anyways, I look forward to chatting with you guys and talking orchids :).

Yes, watering can be a pain sometimes, but when you love your plants you gotta do what you gotta do! Splitting the collection up into groups that you water different days of the week does help make all the watering bearable.

Excellent advice, Camille. I do that and it makes it a little less overwhelming.

I've been watering that way for a while now, and sort of take it for granted that it makes life easier. When I got back from christmas vacation, ALL the orchids needed water. Took me 3 hours to soak them all.... Torture!
