Turquoise Orchid..?
Ok. A friend saw this turquoise flowers on a state fair and we all are thinking: Is this an orchid? The farmer said it is. But he doesn't know the name. That's why I'm here. Please and thanks!

Yes, it is jade vine, Strongylodon macrobotrys. It is a legume, family Fabaceae (Leguminosae).

What an interesting color for a plant and quite evident that it is natural as the brown/gold contrast is present in the throat of the bloom (as opposed to all different shading of the same color ... /cough /cough you all know to which I am referring :evil:)
If the culture requirements are similar to the orchids you are growing, it would look nice among your collection for sure. I'd have no problem "fitting it in" :blushing: |
