Happy Valentines day everyone! <3
For once my husband got it right and got me a mini phal for Valentine's day instead of roses! ;) The roots look good, the leaves are healthy and the blooms are just gorgeous!! And the best thing is that it is a little peloric.. <3 ....Some of my orchid obsessing seems to have rubbed of on him! haha. Attachment 53246 Attachment 53245 Attachment 53247 |
I won't have anything to share with you because there's no one to give me anything, I'm hopelessly single. :bua:
Your Phal is perfect for valentine's day, it's pink and with the peloria it almost looks like hearts. |
camille1585 --> aww! I would have thought that there were a few handsome single men in France! ;) Well if you send me your address I'll post you a valentine's card!
You are right, does look like hearts! He really outdid himself this time! <3 I'm still hoping he'll take me out to my favorite sushi place tonight. I have tried to give him a few subtle hints: ".. Long time since we had sushi, isn't it..?" hahah! After 5 years you sort of realize that men can't read your mind! fingers crossed! |

johnblagg -> That is beautiful! such a lovely color too! :)
Junebug -> You are so right! But this Valentine's day I got some sushi. ;) |
Well, I figured that since there was nobody to offer me an orchid, I might as well offer one to myself! Got a Miltoniopsis.
No idea what color it's going to be (other than there being some pink), I bought it based on root health only. Over here commerical growers have the nasty habit of planting the young plants in bark without removing the tight sphag beforehand, leaving a sphag core that retains way too much water. Result is root rot guaranteed even before they hit the shelves. I was hiding in a corner of the store pulling plants out of their pots until I found one that had SOME live roots. For 6€ I couldn't pass it up! :blushing: This is my last attempt to save one, I've killed 3 others. Maybe it'll o the S/H route once it's bloomed. Pics to come when it's blooming! |

Camille-> Well done! Your post made me laugh so bad! "I was hiding in a corner of the store pulling plants out of their pots until I found one that had SOME live roots." I so do that! Looking over my sholder trying to see if there are any shopkeepers about! I think that is what separates the 'true addicts' of the everyday plant shoppers..
