In need of expert botanist
 

A few years ago I was given a couple of bulbs and was told what they were but dont remember:blushing:(first pic) Every year they would come up in the spring and each year they would be bigger. They look the shape of a palm tree. No pic of plant fully growen. Then would die out in the winter.This year one is sprouting as normal but the other one grew something I have never seen before (The second pic) Any Ideas what might be

Thanks Pat, I search the name you gave me and sure enough thats it. After reading about it I LOL remembering that about 4 days ago my wife was complaining about a real bad ordor coming in the Florida room window. aparently the flower smells like a dead animal to attrack those green flies. It is planted right outside the window of my Florida room. Glad it only smell for a short time after it opens.

You mean it doesn't smell like roses? :scratchhead:

Mine happens to be planted in area that gets mostly shade expect in the morning (not in pot). I have had mine for about 6 years and this is the first time it has ever flowered. If you get one to bloom you will definitly wish it was out side. :yikes: My wife said it smell alot like dung and rotten meat. Glad I wasnt home at the time

I like the ones you showed me better then the one I have, Had it not flowered I would have never known that there was other types. I wonder if they stink too!
