First phal rebloom - so happy!
Hi OB!
It's my first time posting in the forum and I've been reading many threads here the last few days. I would just like to share my first phal rebloom success with people who appreciate hearing stories like this. :) I currently have five phals at my office (and five at home). A little over two months ago, I had a new spike growing on one of my phals. 75 days later and with a full new spike, I have my first phal rebloom! It's a pretty yellow flower, with pink stripes and pink lips. I'm so happy because I know I've been doing something right to be able to achieve this. I've never experienced this before so it was really a thrill! Now I have three other phals at work with no new spikes, but I think I'm seeing the start of a new spike on one of them. I hope I'd get my second success on this one. :) Before, I would throw phals once all the flowers have dropped off, didn't know they could rebloom! Now that I know better, I've been taking care of these phals for some months now. I'm attaching some photos. Thanks for reading! The new spike 77 days ago. http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/1314/76088283.jpg The first bloom 2 days ago. http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/646...halrebloom.jpg In full bloom yesterday. http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/7892/fullbloom.jpg My other phals at work taken some weeks ago, on the far right you'll see the spike before the buds started coming out. http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/2827/89107769.jpg My phals at home. http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/5200/92229279.jpg |
Wow! What happy Phalaenopsis.
It's a real thrill when they rebloom, obviously yours are responding to good care and conditions. Good growing and welcome to OB. Maureen |
Some fantastic phals and some lovely colours, i love the yellow one.
It's it great when you get your first rebloom, i had one recently and also have new flower spikes growing. Keep up the good growing. |

Thanks for the warm welcome and kind words! :)
I really think that I found a good spot for my phals at home, because I would put my phals before in a different spot in the house and they would die eventually. The phals in my office don't receive direct sunlight even though they're next to the window so I think that helps, plus watering once a week. Phals are so addictive! I wanna buy more. :) |
Nicely done and welcome to the OB.
I love the last photo - it looks like a really happy and well-tended group. Keep up the good work! - J |
