First phal rebloom - so happy!
Default First phal rebloom - so happy!

Hi OB!

It's my first time posting in the forum and I've been reading many threads here the last few days. I would just like to share my first phal rebloom success with people who appreciate hearing stories like this.

I currently have five phals at my office (and five at home). A little over two months ago, I had a new spike growing on one of my phals. 75 days later and with a full new spike, I have my first phal rebloom! It's a pretty yellow flower, with pink stripes and pink lips. I'm so happy because I know I've been doing something right to be able to achieve this. I've never experienced this before so it was really a thrill! Now I have three other phals at work with no new spikes, but I think I'm seeing the start of a new spike on one of them. I hope I'd get my second success on this one. Before, I would throw phals once all the flowers have dropped off, didn't know they could rebloom! Now that I know better, I've been taking care of these phals for some months now.

I'm attaching some photos. Thanks for reading!

The new spike 77 days ago.

The first bloom 2 days ago.

In full bloom yesterday.

My other phals at work taken some weeks ago, on the far right you'll see the spike before the buds started coming out.

My phals at home.

Wow! What happy Phalaenopsis.

It's a real thrill when they rebloom, obviously yours are responding to good care and conditions.

Good growing and welcome to OB.

Thanks for the warm welcome and kind words!

I really think that I found a good spot for my phals at home, because I would put my phals before in a different spot in the house and they would die eventually. The phals in my office don't receive direct sunlight even though they're next to the window so I think that helps, plus watering once a week.

Phals are so addictive! I wanna buy more.
