Cattleya warneri var. pseudo-concolor 'Jandira'
2 Attachment(s)
This is an old clone that I've been growing for more than 20 years, still one of the good light colored warneri. The plant is genetically unstable as to the purple mark in the lip. Actually, four configurations are produced from year to year or sometimes on the same spike, like in this year's flowers: three small purple marks forming a perfect triangle in the lip; two purple marks (one mark missing at left or at right); only one small purple mark in the centre of the lip; and finally, no purple mark (perfect concolor). This last configuration is more rarely seen.
The first three photos show three different flowers on the same spike this year. The other two photos show past flowers to illustrate the lip behavior. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2657/...7e7de135_t.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3503/...6679dbf0_t.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2474/...6c48d2ea_t.jpg |

This Plant Is Beautiful!!!!!!!!!! if i were going to have a warneri This is what i would want it too Look like!! but no one here Sells concolor Varieties!
Question: is it not considered to be a true concolor if that splotch is present? it must be exciting to see what it will do next! like Phalaenopsis tetapsis you never know which petals will carry the brown/red splotch! Amazing that it does this all in one spike! Great plant Mauro!!! |
