Cattleya amethystoglossa anticipation
2 Attachment(s)
Yes, I know, it's not actually in flower yet. But the buds are getting bigger with each passing day, and the anticipation is really starting to drive me a little nuts. The plant is around 28 inches tall (not counting the spike). Since this is the first time that it's flowering, I'm having a hard time controlling my enthusiasm.

Interesting looking buds. Keep us posted on their opening.

I understand your eagerness - mine opened a few days ago and it is definitely worth the wait. Enjoy your success :bowing

Nice looking buds. But when the final curtain opens they will be fantastic! Don't forget the pics when they do. Nice growing.

You lucky, lucky dog!! This species is definitely worth the anticipation!! Ive got one the same size as yours with a sheath so my fingers are crossed!!

I have acouple in bud also and can't wait. One is huge and I am expecting a high flower count. On the other hand one of my best cultivars had the lead bulb rot while in bud, luckily I caught it in time and romved that bulb and it has been a month and the plant is OK.

Here is the one I won't see bloom this year. Hopefully it will do well and come back strong.
