My catt is changing colors

My catt is apparently happy with it's new spot in front of the east facing sliders. As a result, it's taking on a reddish hue on the back of some leaves and the top of a few pbulbs.

The folks at the local orchid store must be seriously amused by all my questions. I appreciate they are very patient (and don't giggle until after I leave ;) ). I've dragged my little catt over there a couple of times. Today's trip was because I thought I had sunburned my plant.

I'm happy to be taught the changing color, along with the 5 little root nubbins, is a sign of a happy catt. So that will be a good spot for all the others when they arrive.

At least today I didn't come home with more plants, unlike all my other visits. Of course I did buy a plant from them just 5 days ago, so the selection hadn't changed much. There's always next month...

Sometimes it's embarrassing to be the newbie, but I'm learning as I go.

Redhead
Sounds as though you are having fun while you are learning, That's the way to do it. There is a lot to learn and a lot of fun along the way.
Enjoy it all.
By the way it sounds like you have a happy Cattleya. Nice job !!
Don't forget we all love pictures.

This is my first try at posting a pic.

Ignore the brown leaf tip in the front. The changing color is on the pbulb and leaf facing sideways.

Yep it's getting a real nice tan! I've got one that has horizontal "tan" stripes from the mini-blinds! It looks kind of strange.

you might be underwatering your catt. the ripples on the pseudobulbs are a bit deep. Just my 2cents.

Looks like you have a happy catt! :) I think we've all had out embarassing orchid newbie (and not so newbie) moments.

 That sounds too funny. Kind of like humans with bathing suit marks when they tan!
