these are the other pieces of drift wood i found. my orchids will be happy on them too!

Bonsai that looks awesome. I wonder, can driftwood from the ocean, salt water, be used also. Does the salt cause potential harm? If so will just washing it down with a hose make it ok? Or is it better to just look for it in a lake and stick to the fresh water variety.

I've used drift wood form the ocean before and all I do is wash it with lots of water.

I like the piece on the far right; kind of gnarly yet soft! Is there any other way to mount them on there? I'm not a fan of the sphagnum moss... I think it's the only way tho go though or the roots would dry out too soon right? Would Osmunda fiber work?

Very nice pieces Bonsai1540 gives me some ideas!

Thanks Wanda, the ocean is a lot closer than the lake and has plenty of it, probably.
