New additions!

Since I recently added on 60 sq. ft. to my orchid porch, I figured some new additions to the collection wouldn't hurt. The wonderful, coconut fragrance of Maxillaria tenuifolia,Attachment 12418 and the beautiful spots of Lc. Tropical Pointer 'Cheetah'Attachment 12420 Attachment 12421were the perfect addition. I think I successfully crossed the Lc. Tropical Pointer 'Cheetah' with my C. nobilior.Attachment 12419 Hopefully, I can get the Cheetah's spots with a lip of the nobilior!

Very nice choices, Jasen :)

I'd love a 'Cheetah'/nobilior hybrid! :cloud9:

I'll gladly reserve one for ya, Susanne.

Very pretty choices. Can you take a pic of them altogether in your new section of your orchid porch?
Would love to see it. :) I know, I know, I'm pushy! :)

I was thinking the same thing. I'd love to see a pic of the addition. I love looking at photos of people's grow areas.

Alright, I'm cavin' in to the peer pressure! I'm still putting on the finishing touches, but here's some pics: This is the outside Attachment 12444, looking in through the porch door Attachment 12451, shaded side of the "mount wall" Attachment 12445, entering into new addition Attachment 12446, sunny side of "mount wall" Attachment 12447, The bloomers Attachment 12448(pretend you didn't see the jawless Paph., it got pollinated this morning....I don't want to traumatize anyone!) , the plant bench (which is still under construction)Attachment 12450, and the intake fan with water screen, for a little added humidityAttachment 12449. I'm still playing with this concept, I have a bigger water pump I'm going to try. I'm going to make another screen, and sandwich a couple misters between the two screens.

Also, C.nobilior is missing from the pics because it was already pollinated, and the flowers have wilted.

Jasen, why not try a spun stainless furnace filter and drip water over the surface? Something I was pondering myself. Shouldn't rot or mold. You can drill holes in outer frame at top, connect drip irrigation connectors in the holes and let it run. Just a thought.
