Default New additions!

Since I recently added on 60 sq. ft. to my orchid porch, I figured some new additions to the collection wouldn't hurt. The wonderful, coconut fragrance of Maxillaria tenuifolia,New additions!-2008_0430xmas0002-jpg and the beautiful spots of Lc. Tropical Pointer 'Cheetah'New additions!-lc-tropical-pointer-cheetah-jpg New additions!-2008_0502xmas0011-jpgwere the perfect addition. I think I successfully crossed the Lc. Tropical Pointer 'Cheetah' with my C. nobilior.New additions!-2008_0421xmas0009-jpg Hopefully, I can get the Cheetah's spots with a lip of the nobilior!

Very nice choices, Jasen

I'd love a 'Cheetah'/nobilior hybrid!

Very pretty choices. Can you take a pic of them altogether in your new section of your orchid porch?
Would love to see it. I know, I know, I'm pushy!

I was thinking the same thing. I'd love to see a pic of the addition. I love looking at photos of people's grow areas.

Default New Addition (that the new additions are in)

Alright, I'm cavin' in to the peer pressure! I'm still putting on the finishing touches, but here's some pics: This is the outside New additions!-2008_0504xmas0024-jpg, looking in through the porch door New additions!-blc-hemlock-pass-intermedia-darta-jpg, shaded side of the "mount wall" New additions!-2008_0504xmas0015-jpg, entering into new addition New additions!-2008_0504xmas0022-jpg, sunny side of "mount wall" New additions!-2008_0504xmas0019-jpg, The bloomers New additions!-2008_0504xmas0008-jpg(pretend you didn't see the jawless Paph., it got pollinated this morning....I don't want to traumatize anyone!) , the plant bench (which is still under construction)New additions!-2008_0504xmas0021-jpg, and the intake fan with water screen, for a little added humidityNew additions!-2008_0504xmas0023-jpg. I'm still playing with this concept, I have a bigger water pump I'm going to try. I'm going to make another screen, and sandwich a couple misters between the two screens.

Also, C.nobilior is missing from the pics because it was already pollinated, and the flowers have wilted.

Jasen, why not try a spun stainless furnace filter and drip water over the surface? Something I was pondering myself. Shouldn't rot or mold. You can drill holes in outer frame at top, connect drip irrigation connectors in the holes and let it run. Just a thought.
