Beautiful! Happy young plant!

Stunning indeed! Stephen, isn't there some disagreement on the status of 'The Chairman' as a species? I don't care, I'd love to have this plant and bloom it in my collection either way!

Yes, the Chairman has loddigesii in it's background. It's from that whole 'Pendentive' complex that includes well known plants like 'Dayane Wenzel' and 'Estrela da Colina.'

Gotcha, thanks!

Wow I didn't know that! Is 'Dayane Wenzel' suspected to have loddigesii in it as well?

Yep! There are a bunch of other names from that breeding line that you'd recognize. I can't remember the others right now though.

Ya, I've thought about that for myself as well. Although, the blooms I've got still look and smell great!

HR Nurseries have non-Pendentive walkerianas from time to time, and Marni (flasks). It seems Pendentive lines are still commonly being used. I'm now looking into another clone that has some controversy, Cattleya harrisoniana 'Streeter's Choice'. Man, loddigesii are sneaking its way up into everything!

Either way, that plant looks great!
