Where do you live? While in the chat room, a number of us were discussing where we live and grow orchids.
We thought it would be interesting to get everybody involved...

I'm in Spring Hill, on the west coast of Florida

Recently moved from the East Coast of Florida to Central Florida.

Hey everyone, I live in Edmonton Alberta and currently have about 100 orchids(a little of everything) and grow just about every way. Some mounted, some s/h, some in a vivarium. Thats a little about me

Spring Hill is on the west coast, south of Gainesville. I'm about 40 miles or so north of Tampa. Have you ever heard of WeekiWachee, the park with the mermaids?
I'm about a mile from there.

Ahhhh....yes I have heard of WeekiWachee. I have lived in Florida (central and east coast) for many years and my husband is a native born in downtown Orlando.

Nine miles west of the ocean at downtown Myrtle Beach, SC. We've got about 175 orchids in a GH so something is always blooming.

Sandra, that must be beautiful :) I was in Myrtle Beach years ago and thought it was gorgeous. To live so close to the ocean is great!

bump this one back up since it's interesting. I'm Vee from Pensacola, Florida in the panhandle. Fairly new to orchids and thank you so much for all the interesting information on this site. I've printed out tons of info. Now if I can just keep it straight.......

I live about 20 miles south of Seattle in a place called Normandy Park. Quite a distance away from the majority that seem to live in Florida!

:welcome: Aboard Vee and rh, nice to have you's around the OB, a wealth of knowledge here and as you can see many throughout the country. Many are from Fl :biggrin: as well. Hope you's can join the nightly chats a different topic every night, but whose to say we will stay on task. Right now I'm in Doylestown in beautiful Bucks County, PA, about 30 miles north of Philly, and 10 miles south of Parkside!

I have grown orchids in Atlanta GA, Louisville KY, LaGrange KY, Georgetown SC, Jackson NJ before hitting here 17 years ago.

I'm not that far from you Ray. I'm in between Reading and Allentown, PA....almost an hour from Parkside.

Just northwest of Indianapolis, IN. I have a little bit of everything, and someday hope to have a greenhouse that I can expand my collection to :)

I'm just out side of Vancouver in Surrey BC, Canada. But i mainly grow 20 mins away in Fort Langley

i LIVE 10 MINUTES SOUTH OF MONTREAL AND i HAVE A GREENHOUSE IN MY NEW HOUSE
