YOU GROW GIRL! :bananaslide::bananaslide::bananaslide:
whooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Amanda, it doesn't surprise me that your orchids are happy! any orchid is truly lucky to have you as it's mother :blushing: keep up that good work! :goodjob |
:iagree: :wtg:
awesome job amanda! I am interested in how you have the 'sick' plants - just some rocks with a bit of water in a cup? I have a catt that has been declining quickly and think I may like to try your method! way good growing! |
Well Done Amanda! excellent work! keep it up and keep us posted!
|
Thanks, WhiteRabbit!! Yeah, the sickies get a tall plastic container with some stones and water. I mist them daily with SuperThrive and have noticed tremendous progress with them. I didn't take the same approach with the catts and it seems it took them forever to start growing roots and new pbulbs. I will never run out of SuperThrive, I have had a great deal of growth since using it.

Thanks, nenella! I'm so happy I can barely contain myself! I can't wait for some flowers though! That's the next step!
|
Congratulations!!!!!!!!! They look great. You are doing something right.
Marilyn |
Will you please explain what the lights are over your plants? I could use one like that.
Marilyn |
I know the feeling, when all of a sudden things click and the roots go wild! Nice job and show us pictures when they finally reward you with blossoms!
|
Nice job, Amanda - Congrats! Looks like you have a lot of activity going on there!
|
WOW! Congrats! :) So many new roots, growths and keikis.... Amazing :D I also want some! ;)
|
Thank you everyone for your kind words of encouragement!! That's one of the many reasons I LOVE this forum!!!
Marilyn-The lights are desk lamps I bought at WalMart, they have "daylight" CFL bulbs in them. Pretty easy setup for a newbie like myself. Ross-I hope I do get blooms out of these chids. I'm not sure how that is going to work out. I'm worried about the type of lights I have. Great for growing, but I keep reading that the bulbs I have don't have a wide enough range of the light spectrum for blooms. Any suggestions? I have 6500k bulbs in both lamps. |
i think you have unlocked the secret to orchid growing. congratulations 'Amanda''

Shirley, I mix the SuperThrive per the directions on the package and just put it in my misting bottle. I make sure that the roots don't touch the water in the container. I secure the plant by clipping it to a stick so they don't fall over. I'm so glad that I can contribute something here!! I'm excited that people are interested in the way I help my sickies along.
Thanks everyone!! I'm so excited with the progress I've made in orchid growing! |
Way to go chic!! You got it 'going on' girl!!
Your chids suuuuure do love their mommy!!! Smilin' at ya every day with news roots coming your way!! Oh, and HOW Often are you 'misting' with that Super Thrive mix? |
Everyday, Jkelee, everyday.
I started looking at the pictures again and noticed I have LOTS of room for MORE ORCHIDS! I better get to shopping!! |
Fantastic job Amanda! They all look so healthy. Carol

Superthrive is most definitely available in Canada. I have it in my hydroponics shop. I'd suggest you check some other stores if the one that sold you thrive alive told you its not available here Also is the thrive alive Red or Green? Both are similar to superthrive, but one(green) is organic while the other(red) is not. |
Thank you, phearamedusa. We have a couple of hydroponic stores here so I'll check them out! I understood that Superthrive was not available here.
:) |
If you can't find it, drop me a pm.
|
You can find Superthrive in France or in the UK too
|
Amanda, good growing!
Thanks for putting up so many pictures to share your hapiness! |
Thanks, Blueszz!! It was easy to post so many pics, because there is so much going on. I'm just glad I have the OB to share my happiness with!!!
