I have finally gotten the hang of this!
Hi everyone!! Looks like with the superb advice on the OB and the help of SuperThrive I am FINALLY able to grow orchids and not kill them. Even the ones I tried to kill are recovering nicely!
I have roots and leaves popping out everywhere! I wanted to say big THANK YOU to everyone who has talked me down off the ledge, gave me advice on growing, lighting, EVERYTHING. I truly believe if it weren't you all, my collection would be non-existent!
Well, here they are!!!

:iagree:
awesome job amanda!
I am interested in how you have the 'sick' plants - just some rocks with a bit of water in a cup? I have a catt that has been declining quickly and think I may like to try your method!
way good growing!

Thanks, WhiteRabbit!! Yeah, the sickies get a tall plastic container with some stones and water. I mist them daily with SuperThrive and have noticed tremendous progress with them. I didn't take the same approach with the catts and it seems it took them forever to start growing roots and new pbulbs. I will never run out of SuperThrive, I have had a great deal of growth since using it.

Amanda, I was fascinated to see the photos of your dendrobiums rooting with stones and water and would like to try it on a couple of mine. Did you mist with straight SuperThrive or was it diluted? We don't have SuperThrive in Canada but I have Thrive Alive which is a B1 supplement and I think worth a try. Thanks!

Shirley;
Superthrive is most definitely available in Canada. I have it in my hydroponics shop. I'd suggest you check some other stores if the one that sold you thrive alive told you its not available here Also is the thrive alive Red or Green? Both are similar to superthrive, but one(green) is organic while the other(red) is not.
